In-person Miss Canyon Lake hopefuls applying next week

Canyon Lake women looking to enter the 2023 Miss Canyon Lake Scholarship Pageant will need to show up Sunday through Tuesday from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the East Gate Annex Building. It is there that they will fill out and turn in their application for the Dec. 16 pageant.

The Miss Canyon Lake Scholarship Pageant, which has been on hiatus because of the COVID-19 pandemic, is a beloved tradition that spans through countless years. It is focused on promoting community service along with educational development.

“This is not an ordinary beauty pageant,” Pageant Director CoCo Morrison said. “This prestigious position entails a commitment to championing community service and educational development and causes throughout their reign.”

Those entering the pageant must be residents of Canyon Lake, although Canyon Lake girls attending college away from home are also eligible. The age range is from 5 years old to 25 years old. There is also a Mrs. Category that applies to any age.

There will be ongoing rehearsals until the pageant performance in December. The location of the event will be in the Holiday Bay Room at the Canyon Lake Lodge.

“We have not been able to do a pageant since 2018, so it will be great for the young women of this community to get involved as they have for years in the past,” CoCo said. “Come join the fun and make memories of a lifetime.”
