Tim Cook receives Patriotic Quilt from Quilters

Tim Cook was selected to receive the Patriotic Quilt that the Quilters of Canyon Lake made specifically to those who have served the country and others. With a background steeped in service to both country and community, Tim has become a respected figure in the Canyon Lake area, known for his unwavering commitment to making a positive impact.

Tim, a proud Army veteran, loves his community, too. He and his wife Shelley decided about a decade ago to make Canyon Lake their home.

Family holds a special place in Tim’s heart, and he and Shelley have together built a beautiful and loving family that includes six children and five cherished grandchildren. This tight-knit family exemplifies the values of love and togetherness that Tim consistently brings to his community involvement.

Tim’s contributions to the Canyon Lake community extend far beyond his role as a family man. He served as the former vice president of the Canyon Lake Property Owners Association where his leadership helped shape the community’s development and ensure the well-being of its residents.

However, Tim’s dedication to service doesn’t stop there. He is one of the founding members of the Canyon Lake Veterans & First Responders Group, a crucial organization that supports those who have served their country and the local community. Tim held the position of president for four years and currently serves as vice president, demonstrating his enduring commitment to this vital cause.

The club has been instrumental in raising money for many other needs throughout the community. Tim has been the 9/11 committee chair and helped orchestrate the Canyon Lake 9/11 event and parade. The club helped raise $22,000 for the family of a fallen police officer this year.

The club has been involved in providing Thanksgiving food and dinners for vets and first responders and helped to raise money for a bench in memory of Karen Bevans who was very instrumental in helping the Veterans in Canyon Lake. The club also helped raise the funds for the 9/11 monument that is now in front of the Canyon Lake Fire Department Station.

Moreover, Tim is a founding member of the CLEAR Foundation, a member of the Canyon Lake Association of Men (CLAMS), Young Old People’s Club, and the Canyon Lake Yacht Club. Tim also volunteers for the Bassmasters Kids Fishing Derby and helped by volunteering his time for the Cancer Awareness Fair at Holiday Harbor in support of Michelle’s Place.

Tim has served as one of the chairmen of the city 9/11 program for the last four years. His leadership has also ensured that emergency services in Canyon Lake are efficient and responsive, providing residents with peace of mind.

Tim stands as a testament to the power of service and community involvement. His military background, long-standing residency in Canyon Lake, dedication to family, and leadership roles in various community organizations exemplify the qualities that make him a cherished figure in Canyon Lake.

“Tim was presented with the military application quilt recognizing him for his service to our country,” Ronda McCord of the Canyon Lake Quilters Club said. “The back of the quilt inscription reads, ‘This Patriotic Quilt is presented to Tim Cook with thanks for your service to our Country. Made by the Quilters of Canyon Lake CA. 2023’.”
