Dozens ‘Meet and Greet’ Woman’s Club

The Canyon Lake Woman’s Club met Monday for a wine night meet and greet at the Canyon Lake Country Club during its Happy Hour. Over 50 women gathered during the event to learn more about the club and meet its members.

Members of the board introduced themselves and talked about what the Canyon Lake Woman’s Club is all about. Club President Samantha Gorrell shared her vision of gratitude for the upcoming new 2023-24 club year.

With a new logo, new color theme and new board Samantha hopes to include women of all ages (21 and over) to join the club. She shared that last year the club gave out $40,000 in charitable contributions and this year the club hopes to exceed that.

The club has decided to hold a monthly women‘s wine night at the country club to invite women in the community to come together for a social time to make new friends and enjoy sisterhood. Canyon Lake women are encouraged to join the club every second Monday of the month for the Country Club‘s Happy Hour pricing and to learn about the club with its exciting events planned and the philanthropic aspects of the club.

The next club event will be the 2nd Annual Hot Autumn Nights on Sept. 16 at 4:00 p.m at the Canyon Lake Senior Center. The fun event will include Corn Hole Competition, Canyon Lake Brewers, Chili competition and good music. The price is $25.00 for the Chili Cookoff and $10.00 for Corn Hole.

The first meeting of the new year is scheduled for Sept. 20, at 9:00 a.m. The new meeting place will be at the Canyon Lake Country Club. The meeting‘s focus will be on gratitude.

Samantha said the club hopes to have the community reach out to its friends and family outside the community in hopes of reaching more women.

“I’d like to thank the country club manager Paul de la Vega and his staff for making the meet and greet run so smoothly, “ Samantha said. “The Country Club’s manager has worked out a delicious menu to purchase at our club meetings every third Wednesday of the month, so orders must be placed in advance.”
