In Memoriam: Oscar Edgar Nichols

Oscar Edgar Nichols, after a brave fight with cancer, went to be with the Lord on June 30 from his home in Canyon Lake. He was born Jan. 5, 1932 in Wapanucka, OK.

Oscar served in the US Army and was mustered out in Escondido, CA where he met and married Betty Jean Hill.

In Southern California, he developed Nichols Machinery Movers from which he retired in 2002. Upon retiring, he moved to Clovis, CA and lived there until the death of his wife Betty. They had four children, 10 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.

In 2009, Oscar married long-time Canyon Lake resident Joyce Wallner and moved to Canyon Lake.

Memorial services will be held at Canyon Lake Community Church on Aug. 5 at 11:00 a.m.

Oscar will be greatly missed by family, friends and neighbors.
