Fun, food, music, cops at Town Center Tuesday night

In addition to mingling with local law enforcement, those at Tuesday’s National Nite Out at the Canyon Lake Town Center will be treated to tons of fun including music, various police vehicles, food and merchandise vendors, free raffles, kids rock walls and jumpers and a whole lot of smiling cops.

The City of Canyon Lake is hosting the event that will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for the cities of Canyon Lake, Wildomar and Lake Elsinore as well as the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Department, which provides police service for the three cities.

“National Night Out is unlike any other event,” City of Canyon Lake City Manager Nicole Dailey said. “It is your chance to meet the men and women who serve and protect our community and to see the many resources available to our first responders, if and when they are needed.”

National Nite Out is a nationwide event held the first week of August each year around the country. National Night Out, in its 40th year, enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. It provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.

This family-friendly fair will feature squad cars, the BearCat armored vehicle, a mobile command post, the SWAT team, fire engines, code enforcement, an SCE work truck, a huge Brothers Towing tow truck and other emergency response vehicles.

“The City of Canyon Lake is excited to be hosting this year’s event in partnership with our neighboring cities and in support of our local law enforcement and first responders,” Nicole said. “We encourage our community to come out and enjoy some good food, fun kids’ activities, shop local vendors, interact with our law enforcement and fire teams, and win lots of raffle prizes.”

The raffle is free for all those attending the event. One raffle ticket per person can be picked up at the City of Canyon Lake booth. Raffle items include bikes, backpacks, local restaurant gift certificates and more.

Free kids activities include a rock wall, a dual lane obstacle course, a jumper, and an art station. There will also be several booth vendors selling items and distributing information.

Food vendors at the two-hour fair include: The Baja Shrimp Truck, So Cheesy Food Truck, The Scoop Ice Cream Truck and Snowie Shaved Ice Truck. DJ Mike Shroyer (Good Time Entertainment) will be playing music and making announcements.

Sponsors for the local National Night Out are Associa Equity Management, SCE, Brothers Towing, The Expoxy Resin Store, EVMWD, Massage by Leanna, Tricon Residential and HitPrint.
