Family-oriented Paddle & Pedal Regatta Aug. 12

Canyon Lake families are being encouraged to gather their water toys and head to Indian Beach on Aug. 12 for the highly-anticipated 11th annual Paddle & Pedal Regatta put on by the Canyon Lake Triathlon & Fitness Club.

This exciting community event promises a day filled with water-based activities and family-friendly fun. Participants are encouraged to bring their paddleboards, pedal boats, kayaks, canoes, row boats, or any other non-motorized watercraft for a fun-filled group paddle from Indian Beach to the East Port launch ramp.

No pre-registration is necessary. Simply bring the floatable devices to Indian Beach and check-in at 10:00 a.m. Shortly thereafter, a group photo will be taken and then it is off across the lake to East Port.

While not mandatory, attendees are welcome to dress in Hawaiian-themed attire which will add a vibrant touch to the event. Prizes will be awarded for the Big Kahuna, the best adult costume, as well as the Little Kahuna, the best youth costume.

In past years, the East Bay has been filled with Canyon Lakers on their various boards and boats. The organizers are hoping to see the same multitude of participants this year and re-create such a scene on the water between Indian Beach and the East Bay.

After the exhilarating group paddle, the festivities will continue with paddleboard and kayak races for both adults and children. Adding an element of friendly competition to the event, medals will be awarded to the victors.

Those participating are encouraged to bring their own refreshments and stay for socializing, swimming and a whole bunch of fun.

The Canyon Lake Triathlon and Fitness Club is known for organizing a wide array of fitness events throughout the year. In addition to the Paddle & Pedal Regatta, the club hosts other notable community events such as the Tour de Canyon Lake and the Turkey Trot 5K.

Club members engage in monthly running, biking, and swimming activities, as well as specialized triathlon training sessions.
