JWC scholarship recipients honored by city

The 2023 Canyon Lake Junior Women’s Club scholarship recipients were recognized at the June City of Canyon Lake City Council Meeting and then celebrated at a reception at PZA restaurant.

The recipients lined up for the cameras at the council meeting and were given certificates to acknowledge the scholarships given by the club.

“The students demonstrated their academic excellence, leadership skills, and community involvement, setting them apart from their peers,” the club’s Iris Stricklin said. “Their hard work paid off with a diverse range of scholarship amounts, providing valuable support as they embark on their higher education journey.”

The recipients were carefully selected based on their outstanding academic records, captivating personal essays, and engaged participation in extracurricular activities. These scholarships cover various fields of study, reflecting the students‘ diverse interests and aspirations.

“The Canyon Lake JWC takes immense pride in their accomplishments and wishes them success in their future endeavors,” Iris said. “The Canyon Lake Junior Women’s Club would like to extend its gratitude to the City Council for providing this platform.”
