City to host police-mingling event at Town Center

The City of Canyon Lake will host the area’s National Nite Out event at the Canyon Lake Town Center where police officers and other emergency personnel will be present to mingle with community members. The local National Night Out will take place Aug. 1 at 6:00 p.m.

The event will include an evening filled with family fun, raffles, food and music. National Nite Out is a nationwide event held the first week of August each year around the country. National Night Out, in its 40th year, enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. It provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.

In partnership with the Lake Elsinore Sheriff‘s Department, the City of Lake Elsinore, and the City of Wildomar, the City of Canyon Lake will be hosting the local event at the Canyon Lake Town Center.

This family-friendly fair will feature squad cars, the BearCat armored vehicle, a mobile command post, the SWAT team, fire engines, and other emergency response vehicles. There will also be a DJ, food vendors, a free raffle, as well as activities for the kids.

The city has some availability for booth vendors who would like to attend and participate. Those interested in becoming a vendor or who are interested in becoming a sponsor or donating, should contact city management analyst Cory Gorham at 951-365-5863 or cgorham@canyonlakeca.gov.
