Scout of Year

Canyon Lake Boy Scout Matthew Thomas of Troop 2011 is presented the VFW District 3 Scout of the Year Award by Commander Steve Regalado. Matthew’s Eagle Project last year was carried out at the VFW Post 1508 in Wildomar where he installed bricks for the VFW‘s Veterans Memorial and repainted the Disabled and Wounded Combat Veterans parking spaces. Matthew was eligible for the district honor after he and his brother Luke Thomas were chosen as Post 1508 Scouts of the Year.  As Scout of the Year at the local post, Matthew‘s application went on to compete with other Scouts at the district level, which he eventually won
