Golf cart show hits the Town Center tomorrow

The Canyon Lake Firefighters Association inaugural event takes place tomorrow at the Canyon Lake Town Center. A golf cart show begins at noon and holds significant importance as it will serve as an opportunity to exhibit the group’s values and aspirations to the City of Canyon Lake.

A strong turnout is expected to the event which will showcase the dedication of the Canyon Lake Firefighters Association.

The Inaugural Golf Cart Show does not call for those participating to decorate their golf carts, however it is acceptable.

The association is running the Golf Cart Show like a Car Show. All types of carts are welcome including one of a kind, tricked out, small, large, old, new, eccentric, wild and stocked carts. Those who participate are encouraged to just come and have some fun while showing off their carts.

There will be vendors, food trucks, music, games, and prizes during the event. Trophies will be presented to the Best In Show and People’s Choice categories.

The Canyon Lake Firefighters Association, composed of nine professional firefighters, embarked on its mission on Jan. 1, 2022.

The group’s members’ objective was to serve the City of Canyon Lake more comprehensively and to extend their support beyond their duty hours, while also ensuring the longevity of the Canyon Lake Fire Department.

To achieve these goals, they established the Canyon Lake Firefighters Association, an independent organization not affiliated with the city. Although the group is not recognized as an official club by the Canyon Lake POA, it operates as an association and holds a registered 501(c)(3) status.

Among the nine current members of the association, three reside within the City of Canyon Lake, while all exemplifying their commitment to the community.

Anticipating future exposure, the association plans to organize more events.

For those interested in staying connected and getting updates, the association maintains an active presence on social media platforms. They encourage individuals to contact Tim O’Marra at events@canyonlakefirefighters.org for more information about the group and to pre-enter their carts at a per cart entry of $10.00. Those showing up the day of the event will be charged an entry fee $20.00.
