Canyon Lakers invited to bike in Tour de Canyon Lake

Casual and serious cyclists in Canyon Lake are invited to ride in the Tour de Canyon Lake bike ride on June 3. The event is organized by the Canyon Lake Triathlon and Fitness Club.

This casual group ride welcomes participants of all ages, fitness levels, and bike types, including traditional bikes and e-bikes. The event is free of charge, however, optional donations are being collected to support Animal Friends of the Valley, Canyon Lake’s local animal shelter. The shelter is requesting cat and kitten food, litter, and various other pet supplies, in addition to monetary contributions.

To participate in the event, riders are required to check in and leave donations starting at 7:00 a.m. at the Canyon Lake Lodge. As a token of appreciation, participants who bring a donation will receive an event t-shirt, while supplies last. At 8:00 a.m., following a group photo, the ride will commence. Wearing helmets is mandatory for all riders throughout the event.

The bike route, spanning approximately 15 miles, will commence at the Canyon Lake Lodge and will proceed along Canyon Lake Drive South towards the Main Gate. From there, the route turns left onto Continental Drive and continues back to Canyon Lake Drive North, leading to the East Gate. Riders will then make their way to the Campground before returning to the Lodge.

Although membership with the Triathlon and Fitness Club is not a prerequisite for participation, individuals interested in joining will have the opportunity to do so during the event. The club looks forward to growing its membership.

The Canyon Lake Triathlon and Fitness Club organizes a diverse range of events for both the community and its members throughout the year. In addition to the Tour de Canyon Lake, which aims to bring the community together, free events open to all have included the Paddle and Pedal Regatta in August and the Turkey Trot in November.

For club members, various exclusive activities are offered, including group workouts, Sprint and Olympic distance triathlons, and other engaging social gatherings.
