Choraleers take on Broadway at Spring Concert

For four decades the Canyon Lake Choraleers have captivated audiences with their musical talents and passion for their craft. The group, led by Lorilee Bajema, has become the well-known and accomplished choral group in Canyon Lake, soon to hit the stage with its next concert.

The Choraleers Spring Concert, “Sounds of New York,” promises to be a memorable experience for music lovers. The concert is set to take place on May 21 at the Holiday Bay Room at the Canyon Lake Lodge. The concert will feature highlights from classic Broadway shows like Breakfast at Tiffany’s and West Side Story.

Husband and wife team Brittney and Casey Johnson will be performing solos and duets from West Side Story, while the duet “America,” will be performed by Fredda Koupel and Loretta Iannalfo.

Also sure to be a crowd favorite will be an enchanting performance by the talented Italian tenor Peter Bellanova. He will sing the timeless classic, “Moon River,” from the iconic 1961 movie Breakfast at Tiffany‘s.

“Sounds of New York” will include songs from West Side Story, The Greatest Showman, 42nd Street, Frank Sinatra Classics and much more, Lorilee said.

The Spring Concert will also showcase talents of the Canyon Lake Kids Ensemble, which will give the young singers a chance to shine on stage. This will prove to be a wonderful addition to the concert.

The concert will also include opportunity drawings which will give attendees a chance to win some fabulous prizes.

“The Choraleers thank all of our supporters,” Lorilee said. “Without these donations from the community the concerts would not happen.”

Tickets start at $20 and can be purchased at the Canyon Lake POA Office, Brown Paper Tickets, or the Canyon Lake Choraleers website. For more information contact the group at canyonlakecho
