Fire Department to hold Open House May 13

The Canyon Lake Fire Department is opening up its big doors May 13 and is hoping the community comes on in. The fire department is holding an open house of its Station 1 on Vacation Drive from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and will give those who come an exclusive look at its operations.

The Open House is an opportunity to meet the firefighters and gain insight into the local fire service. There will be engine tours, live demonstrations, a face painter, a balloon artist and much more. Food will be provided by CLAMS.

Children can take pictures in firefighter gear, with the fire engines and with Sparky the Dog. The event will have educational material, fire safety tips and the community will gain valuable insight into how the firefighters are committed to keeping Canyon Lake safe.

“The Canyon Lake Fire Department is looking forward to this opportunity to welcome the community while sharing the exclusive look at the operations,” Fire Captain Tim O’Marra said. “We are thrilled to showcase the progress we’ve made in our first year as an established organization. We invite you, your family, and friends to join us in celebrating our City’s Fire Department together.”

Participating in the event will be the Riverside County Sheriff‘s Department, American Medical Response (AMR), the Canyon Lake Emergency Preparedness Committee, Canyon Lake Lions Club and BLM.
