Couple hundred to host garage sales this weekend

A massive wave of spring enthusiasm has hit the driveways of about 200 Canyon Lake homeowners who will be hosting garage sales as part of the Canyon Lake POA-sponsored Community Garage Sale this weekend. The garage sale was to take place last month but was postponed because of inclement weather.

It is too late to get on the list to host a garage sale, but those who did are listed on a map on the association’s website. There are maps for both Saturday and Sunday.

The garage sales this weekend will be a combination of those who signed up for the original February garage sale that was postponed and those who have signed up since.

This map of the Saturday garage sales is found on the Canyon Lake POA website and shows the nearly 200 homes in Canyon Lake that are hosting garage sales just on Saturday. There is also another map for the Sunday garage sales. The map on the website is interactive and when a location is clicked, its address is displayed. The community-wide garage sale allows residents to have a garage sale without obtaining a garage sale permit from the Canyon Lake POA. Residents and their guests (who need to be called in per the usual procedure) are invited to purchase items at the various garage sales that will be taking place around the community.

There are maps for both Saturday sales and Sunday sales on the Canyon Lake POA website, canyonlakepoa.com//communitysale. The maps are dotted with the dozens and dozens of homes rolling out various items onto their yards for sale. Clicking on the interactive map will show the addresses of those hosting garage sales as well as, in some cases, the items they are selling.

This community sale will be a two-day sale, but all items must be removed from the front lot by 5:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Residents with items in the front lot that are in violation of the Rules & Regulations may be subject to violations, the Canyon Lake POA mentions on its garage sale site.
