CL Library serves as available warming station

The Canyon Lake Library in the Canyon Lake Town Center does more than just offer books on its shelves. It also offers a place for people to come in from the cold weather and warm up.

With the high cost of utilities, it is great to know that there is somewhere that Canyon Lakers can go to enjoy the heat during these extreme cold and windy days, Canyon Lake Library Branch Manager Kim Pike said. Likewise, she said, in the summertime, get out of the heat and enjoy the air conditioned library for a bit of a reprieve.

To visit the library, one needs to just sign in using a library card or by obtaining a temporary visitors pass. The library offers public computers, free WiFi, and charging stations.

“Get a little work done, surf the web or just enjoy some time reading,” Kim said. “There is a printing station at the library as well for a small fee, and if you need help printing off of your phone or email there is help for you there, too.”

The library offers different classes like a knitting and crocheting class, toddler storytime, crafts, homework help, book clubs for adults and kids. Staying out of the cold can result in also enjoying what the library has to offer.
