CLDS median getting new $630,000 facelift

Work has begun just beyond the front entrance of the Canyon Lake Main Gate to beautify the 55-year-old medians on Canyon Lake Drive South.

The $630,000 project will include new landscaping, new trees, and new lights that will illuminate the new design. With the new design there will be a new left turn lane onto Blue Bird Drive which will create a safer turn for the residents. Before Continental Drive there will be new curbing added to remove the old mailbox turn out.

The median trees have grown so large that the roots have lifted the curbs and streets. These damaged curbs will be removed as will some of the trees. The once-bare medians will soon be filled with color and a new updated look.

The Canyon Lake POA consulted with a landscape architect with considerable experience in center median design.

These architect renderings show the design of the new median upon completion. After existing curbing and plants are removed, new trees and plants will take their place to match these renderings. Photo provided by Canyon Lake POA.
