In Memoriam: Terry Lee Wesseln

Terry Lee WesseLn

Terry Lee Wesseln, 63, of Canyon Lake, passed away on Dec. 11, 2022. Terry was born to Hank and Thelma Wesseln, on June 2, 1959 in Anaheim CA.

Terry was a talented collegiate athlete on Loyola Marymount University’s rowing crew. After college he met his wife, Julie, and married in 1990, and moved to Canyon Lake.

Terry owned Taylor Lumber and TW Equities, and later in life opened three businesses in the Canyon Lake Town Center: Canyon Lake Surf n Sport, Surfer Bean, and Canyon Lake Flowers. Terry also worked for RCOLD for seven years.

Terry is survived by his parents, Hank and Thelma, and wife Julie and two children, Madison and Makenna. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Curtis, RuthAnn, Nancy and Michael and his nine nieces and nephews.

Terry held many titles in his life from Canyon Lake tennis member to entrepreneur, but his favorite role was being a father. He loved nothing more than spending time with his children, Madison and Makenna. He was always there for them, whether he was helping them prepare for a job interview or taking care of his “grand-dog,” Baylor. He loved life and lived it well. Terry also enjoyed playing golf, competing in pickleball tournaments and karaoke.

Terry‘s family will host a Celebration of Life service on Sunday, Jan. 29, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. The service will be at the Canyon Lake Lodge. The family asks that those attending wear navy blue in remembrance of him. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to Servite Catholic School in Anaheim or Linfield Christian School in Temecula.
