Dock Underwater

Pelicans play in the lake after nearly two inches of rain fell this last week. The lake level rose two feet to create some issues, such as the dock at Skippers Island, above, that is temporarily underwater. With the lake level increasing so dramatically, the spillway at the dam was also overflowing. Water that flows over the dam travels down the San Jacinto River into Lake Elsinore. The rain in Canyon Lake this season, since July 1, is at about five inches, compared to two inches during the previous period.
