Woman’s Club celebrates Christmas with luncheon

The Canyon Lake Woman’s Club December monthly meeting was all about Christmas, including a luncheon of turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, apple pie and brownie bites made by club member Samantha Gorrell.

The board called the meeting to order at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Christmas story game and gift exchange run by Grace Ward.

The ladies created a story based upon which cookie their table had. The gift exchange was done a little differently than most. Each member at each table was given a number, 1 through 8 and if the member’s number was called, she went and picked out a gift from the gift table. The gift wasn’t safe, though, and could be swapped with another’s gift or it may be taken if the member’s number was called in the gift exchange riddle.

The women enjoyed shopping, talking, eating and celebrating friendships and Christmas together. Ladies were laughing and enjoying the festivities.

Aprile McKinnon sang three songs for the club, including club members in Rockin Around the Christmas Tree. Aprile invited whoever wanted to join her on stage to dance and sing along with her.

The Woman’s Club meets on the third Wednesday of the month at the Canyon Lake Lodge in the Holiday Bay Room.
