CL Street Carts Christmas Parade Sunday

Street Carts of Canyon Lake‘s 12th Annual Toy Drive and Christmas Parade begins Sunday at 5:00 p.m.

The parade route starts on Canyon Lake Drive South at Bluebird and continues down Canyon Lake Drive before ending at the Eastport parking lot.

The toy drive was created to raise toys and donations for those in need during the holiday season. Those participating in the parade will line up at 4:00 p.m. for the golf cart line up at the parade’s starting point and are asked to drop off an unwrapped toy.

Others can donate toys at the conclusion of the parade. Toys can also be dropped off at the Street Carts of Canyon Lake’s Mike Shroyer’s home anytime through Dec. 15. at 22055 Mustang Court. and at JDI Dance Company Studio at 32150 Railroad Canyon Rd.

This year‘s donated toys will go to International Christian Adoption Services Temecula and Bethany Christian Foster Services Riverside.

Mike said Street Carts of Canyon Lake would like to thank the Canyon Lake Junior Women’s Club for its generous donation of toys the club collected at the Tree Lighting Festival on Sunday.

During the parade, which is expected to last until 6:30 p.m., vehicles traversing Canyon Lake Drive North will have their traffic speed limit reduced to 5 MPH. Vehicles will not be permitted to pass the parade.

No street parking is permitted on Canyon Lake Drive from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. adjacent to the parade route. Canyon Lake residents can stand or place chairs next to the curb along the parade route in order to enjoy the parade.

Food trucks and awards will be at Eastport at the conclusion of the parade.

Awards will be presented to the best decorated carts in the categories of Best Lights, Best Theme and Most Outrageous.

Food trucks scheduled to be at Eastport are: Cali Grub, serving hot apple cider, cocoa, coffee, popcorn, and funnel cakes, Baja Dogs, serving custom hot dogs, nachos, fries and tacos and California Street Food, serving a variety of chicken wings, macaroni and cheese, and more.
