Sold out Country Club hosts live band, contest

Still Kickin, a classic rock band, played for Canyon Lake Country Club patrons as they enjoyed dinner, dancing and live music along with a costume contest that kicked off the Halloween weekend in Canyon Lake on Friday.

Visitors to the Canyon Lake Country Club event were of all ages, ranging in age from one to grandparent. The Country Club was at capacity as the festive group danced to the music from the present to the 1950s.

The winner of the costume contest was the Putjenter family. Tyler Putjenter, Julie Putjenter and their two little girls, Everly, 3, and Ellie, 1, dressed as a dinosaur family. The Putjenters took home a gift certificate for the Canyon Lake Country Club.

“We enjoyed the evening with our little girls, and are excited to win the gift card,” Julie said. “Now it’s time to take the little ones home and put them to bed.”
