Parade of Frights

Hundreds of kids and their parents dressed in their favorite Halloween costumes and filled the Canyon Lake Town Center Saturday getting their goody bags filled with candy from the local businesses at the annual Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce Parade of Frights.

In addition to the trick or treating, the kids participated in a Treasure Map drawing, a Parade of Frights costume parade and carnival booth games.

A free Treasure Map was given to each of the trick or treaters and as the kids visited businesses for candy, their map would get stamped by the business. At the conclusion of the trick or treating, the maps were turned in and three winners were drawn. Elena Aparicio, Eric Sierra and Scarlett Armstrong won the drawing and were given Target gift cards.

Many of the Canyon Lake Town Center businesses opened their doors and filled the goody bags of the trick or treaters who stopped by as they made their way through the Town Center. After the collecting of candy and treasure map stamps, the kids headed over to the Parade of Frights.

Winners were awarded trophies in four age categories of the Parade of Frights costume contest, ages 0-1, 2-5, 6-9 and Best Ensemble.

Winners were, Best Ensemble, the Dustin Johnson family. Best costume ages 0-1, Axell Foisy, 2-5, Savvy Duarte, 6-7 Daniel Najera and 8-9, Scarlett Armstrong.
