Halloween Town Contest winners announced

Over Halloween weekend, secret judges were out and about judging decorated homes all over Canyon Lake who signed up to participate in the Canyon Lake Family Matters Club’s Halloween Town contest. Categories of Most Scariest, Kid Friendly, Best Theme and Resident’s Choice were among the variety of categories where awards were given.

Online voting was open to the community, too, where anyone could cast their vote for their favorite home in each of the selected categories.

The awards went to:

Most Scariest: 1st place – 23211 Continental Dr., 2nd place – 29749 Sloop Dr. and 3rd place – 29841 Vacation Dr.

Kid Friendly: 1st place – 30051 Skippers Way, 2nd place – 22620 Blue Teal Dr. and 3rd place – 29195 Yosemite Pl.

Best Theme: 1st place – 22698 Lighthouse Dr., 2nd place – 22971 Blue Teal Dr. and 3rd place – 30013 Happy Hunter Dr.

Resident’s Choice Award: 1st place – 22791 Blue Teal, Best Street – Blue Teal and Haunted House – 23935 Canyon Lake Dr. N.

Winner’s were announced on Monday. Cash prizes and trophies began to be given out early in the week and will continue to be distributed as homeowners are available.

“I was excited to see all the homes entered,” Family Matters Club founder Shawna Bowen said. “I can’t wait to see what everyone does next year.”
