Canyon Lake Car Show next weekend

The popular Canyon Lake Car Show, hosted by the Canyon Lake Car Club and the Canyon Lake POA, is just around the corner. The 16th annual show, which fills the Canyon Lake Lodge parking lot with up to 250 classic cars, takes place next weekend on Saturday and is free to attend.

The show takes place at the Lodge from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and will have loads of entertainment including vendor booths, a ski show, food trucks, raffles, music and more.

There is space for 250 vehicles to participate and car entries are open to the entire Canyon Lake community, not just car club members. Classic, vintage, and custom pre-1998 vehicles are encouraged to register to participate.

Registration is open to any Canyon Lake resident. The registration fee is $40 and the first 250 pre-registered vehicles will receive a goodie bag, t-shirt, and dash plaque. Forms are available online at canyonlakecarclub.com or at the Canyon Lake POA‘s office.

The Canyon Lake Car Club is asking for peanut butter in order to spread some love during their peanut butter drive being held at the car show. Jars of peanut butter will be collected at the show and can be dropped off at the Helping Hands charity booth on the day of the event.

Peanut butter is Helping Hands’ most requested food item and it goes a long way in helping those in need. Helping Hands delivers food to the needy in the area. All jars collected will be donated locally.

Another local charity, Project T.O.U.C.H., will have a booth at the show and is asking those attending to donate Christmas package wrapping by dropping it off at its booth. Project T.O.U.C.H. is dedicated to preventing homelessness in local communities. Since its founding in 2003, the group has fought and advocated for those in need to receive the most basic and essential human needs.

Cars from all over Southern California will be at the show and there will be opportunities to win some amazing prizes, Club President Perry Beggs said. The Canyon Lake Car show will be raffling a garage door screen from California Lifestyle Screens valued at over $2,500.00 with installation included.

There will also be 50/50 opportunities along with some vendor giveaways.

“This looks like it will be the best car show yet,” Perry said. “Lots of vendor booths, a ski show, food trucks, an all-day DJ and much more will be at the show for everyone to enjoy.”

All community members are welcome to come out and see the cars, trucks and specialty vehicles that will be on display. Canyon Lake Car Club members are not eligible to win awards, Perry said.

The Lighthouse Restaurant will open at 8:00 a.m. and serve a modified menu in the Holiday Bay Room throughout the day. Proceeds from the show are donated to various groups and causes in and around Canyon Lake. Funds from previous year‘s events have been donated to the Canyon Lake Veterans Memorial, Canyon Lake Emergency Preparedness Committee, charity golf tournaments, college scholarships, park benches at the Lodge, Progeria Research Foundation, Oak Grove Center in Murrieta, amongst others.
