Lemonade Stand fundraiser holding raffle

The Lemonade Stand that will be at Indian Beach on Sept. 24 already has a pile of prizes it will be raffling off at the fundraiser. The event, held by the Juliana Garcia family, will be raising funds to donate to NEGU.org, an organization that makes joy jars to give to children fighting cancer.

Nine-year-old Juliana is a cancer survivor who when she was 3-years-old had a cancerous tumor, which weighed over a pound, removed from her left kidney. The family knows what parents and siblings go through when a child has cancer and wants to give back to other families who are going through what they went through. This will be the fourth Lemonade Stand fundraiser the family has sponsored.

The Lemonade Stand, which will be open from noon to 3:00 p.m. at Indian Beach on Sept. 24, will sell lemonade, but will also raise significant funds through donations and raffling off some very valuable items that have been donated by the community.

Each raffle ticket is $5.00. Some of the donated prizes received so far are:

Ron Almada with ALP Junkies donated a brand new lily pad, Irma Mascorrow donated an Avon basket, Tim Hurley donated a handmade American Flag wooden cross, One Image Auto Detail donated a car wash, Kristen Bright Photography donated a free family photo session, SoCal Pool Water Recycling donated a local wine basket, Shalyn Steven Screen Printing donated a basket of various items, Linda Shurtleff of Inspired Hippie Designs donated a jewelry item, Painting Room by Room donated a $25.00 Amazon gift card, Ty Lockerby of National Dent donated a $500.00 gift card for dent repair and complete auto detail, Kimberlie Fry of Moxie Glam Photography Studio donated a complimentary boudoir photography session, Lake Lyf donated a basket of items from their company, Libby Vine from Solargoingup.com donated $500.00 off solar installation and Patriotic Arms donated a gift basket.

These American flag wooden crosses are handmade by Tim Hurley. One of them was donated and will be part of the raffle the Garcia family is holding at its Lemonade Stand on Sept. 24 to raise funds for NEGU.org, a nonprofit organization that helps cancer families. Photo by Cara Garcia

The community is invited to come to Indian Beach for some lemonade and a chance to win one of the many raffle prizes that were donated by the Canyon Lake community businesses.

“We are so thankful for all the continued support,” Juliana’s mother Cara Garcia said. “We can’t wait to see everyone at the fundraiser. This means a lot to our family. We know what it’s like to battle childhood cancer. Our daughter Juliana is a survivor and this is our way to give back to families who are battling now.”
