In Memoriam: Karen DeSalvo

Karen DeSalvo

Karen A. DeSalvo, 81, passed unexpectedly on Aug. 9, 2022 at Temecula Valley Hospital. She was born Feb. 3, 1941 in Minneapolis, MN. She was the daughter of Edwin and Myra Joos.

Karen graduated from Mission Bay High School in San Diego in 1959. Following graduation, Karen settled in Huntington Beach, CA where she met her first husband and had two children.

Karen began her career in the banking industry as a teller and soon moved into home loans, securities and became a trainer and mentor.

In 1982, Karen met the love of her life, Chuck DeSalvo, and in 1985 they were married. In 1988, they settled in Canyon Lake where they cultivated many friendships. Karen was in The Canyon Lake Woman’s Club and she and Chuck were in the Canyon Lake Roadrunners RV Club and The Canyon Lake Travel Club.

For 40 years, Chuck and Karen traveled the world, RV’d the USA and enjoyed many other adventures together. Through thick and thin, nor high, nor low they always had that spark between them.

Karen is survived by her husband Charles DeSalvo, daughters Renae, Dayna and Denise, sons Jeff and Charlie, along with 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Services will be held at Canyon Lake Community Church on Friday, Sept. 2, 2022 at 11:00 a.m.
