Junior Golf Camp is back

More than 160 youngsters ages 5 to 17 came out to learn or enhance their golf skills at the Annual Canyon Lake Junior Golf Camp at the Canyon Lake Country Club and Golf Course Tuesday through Friday last week.

Working in different age groups, the participants spent 75 minutes each day at the four-day clinic. Four different coaches worked with the groups who broke them down into smaller groups for more one on one instruction.

The camp had been canceled the last two years because of COVID-19 restrictions.

The Junior Golf Camp was a fun way for kids to develop a lifelong skill in the game of golf. The camp concluded with a skills event and a free barbecue for participants and their families on Friday. Prizes and medals were awarded to each participant.

The young golfers participated in fun kid-friendly competitions, learned fundamental golfing skills, developed a higher level of sportsmanship, received instruction from PGA professionals and created lasting friendships with other junior golfers.
