Club Rush to introduce clubs to Canyon Lakers

In addition to a pile of different games and entertainment, the various clubs of Canyon Lake will be on hand at their booths on June 4 to answer questions to prospective club members at the annual Club Rush put on by the Canyon Lake Family Matters Club.

The event, which will be held in Holiday Harbor Park from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., is a day for Canyon Lake families to come and check out all the Canyon Lake clubs and participating businesses all in one location.

Each of the clubs will have a booth hosted by its members where questions can be answered and new members can sign up. Businesses will also be on hand with their booths to introduce themselves to the community.

“This is a great way to see what is in your community and make new friends with similar interests,” Shawna Bowen, The Family Matters Club Founder, said. “Each club will have a club ribbon you can add to your badge.”

Also, those attending the free event, will have the opportunity to win a Grand Prize Basket. All in attendance will be given a Club Rush Passport to take around to all the booths. The booths will have something fun to do from games to crafts.

Each booth will stamp the passport. Once the passport is filled with the required amount of stamps, the completed Club Rush Passport is put in a bucket with the other completed passports and a winner is drawn.

A free kid‘s fun zone will be at the event where games can be played and kids can get their faces painted. The snack bar will be open for goodies like nachos, hot dogs and treats for purchase.

Throughout the day, some fun competitions will be held where the clubs and businesses will have a chance to sign up as a team to compete against other teams for prizes and trophies. There will also be a best-decorated booth contest, which was won last time by the Canyon Lake Yacht Club.

One of the competitions will be Foot Pool and Human Horse Racing. Foot Pool is played like Billiards, but the balls are kicked on the grass instead of hit with cue sticks on a table. Clubs can sign up for the events at the Club Rush to compete for the trophies in both game

Canyon Lake clubs are still being solicited to participate. So far, the following clubs will be at Club Rush: Boy Scouts, Canyon Lake Car Club, Canyon Lake Chair Volleyball, Canyon Lake Association of Men (CLAMS), Cub Scouts, Canyon Lake Equestrian Club, Canyon Lake Family Matters Club, Canyon Lake Fine Arts Guild, Canyon Lake Community Gardeners, Canyon Lake Junior Women‘s Club, Canyon Lake Pickleball Club, Veterans and First Responders, Canyon Lake Woman‘s Club and the Canyon Lake POA.

“If you belong to any of the other Canyon Lake clubs, please have your club sign up to be at this awesome community and club-oriented event,” Shawna said. “We will have some of our local businesses in attendance as well. We can‘t wait for everyone to come out and see that it‘s the clubs that make Canyon Lake so great.”
