Tennessee River concert tickets still available

Alabama tribute band concert May 14

Tennessee River, a band that was formed 20 years ago to pay tribute to Alabama, will perform in the Lodge’s Holiday Bay Room on May 14. Tickets are still available for the concert sponsored by The Canyon Lake Fine Arts Guild.

The band, prior to becoming Tennessee River, performed internationally in country and rock. The band has been likened to legendary bands such as the Eagles, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Diamond Rio and none other than one of country‘s favorites, Alabama.

Tennessee River will perform fan favorites such as Love in the First Degree, Mountain Music, The Closer You Get and, one of Alabama’s best-known songs, Song of the South.

Tennessee River was formed with the idea of bringing back and paying musical tribute to Alabama, one of the most influential and vocally dynamic country bands ever.

Tennessee River is the first and only tribute band that has the vocal chops to do Alabama‘s music justice, the group said. It has its new hybrid of contemporary cross-over music, bringing a fusion of the rural and urban sounds of modern-day country and blues, with the spirit of rock n roll.

Alabama changed country music with 21 straight #1 singles, a record that will probably never be equaled in any genre. They have brought youthful energy, sex appeal and a rocking edge that broadened country’s audience, forever changing the way bands were accepted in the country format.

The band undertook a journey that led to selling 73 million albums and entering the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Tennessee River will pay tribute to this band and its legacy on May 14. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the concert begins at 7:00 p.m.
