Easter Hunt, Carnival tomorrow

Canyon Lake’s kids are being invited to a visit from the Easter Bunny, some carnival games, prizes, crafts, a bouncy house, face painting and tattoos at the annual Canyon Lake Family Matters Club Easter Egg Hunt and Carnival. The event will take place at Holiday Harbor tomorrow (Saturday) from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

In addition to the Easter Egg Hunt, the day will be filled with games, crafts, facepainting and other fun surprises. Children need only purchase an all-inclusive fun band for $5.00 and they will have access to unlimited games, prizes, crafts, bingo, facepaint, photos with the Easter Bunny, the Easter Egg Hunt and a free kids meal to Texas Roadhouse.

A new twist to this year’s Easter Egg Hunt and Carnival is Brunch with the Easter Bunny. Choices of breakfast are regular pancakes or carrot pancakes, bacon or sausage with fruit. Iced coffee and juice, cotton candy, and an assortment of sodas and water.

The brunches can be pre-ordered on the Family Matters Club website www.familymattersclub.org. Pre-ordered brunches will be guaranteed available. There will only be a few extra brunches available for purchase the day of the event.

The festive brunch will include an additional Easter Bunny walking around the table area interacting with the kids as they eat their breakfasts.

Easter Bunny photos with the kids will take place at a special photo booth with the Easter Bunny for families to take their pictures. There will also be a second grandma bunny roaming around the brunch area greeting and interacting with the children and their families making sure they are enjoying the breakfast she cooked up for them.

The Easter Egg Hunt will take place in the Easter Egg Hunt Village. The Easter Egg Hunt Village will be open from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Each child with a paid wristband will be able to hunt for their eggs at any time they choose without the hassle of large crowds or time sections.

Unlike the typical group Easter Egg Hunt, the village approach will ensure that no one gets trampled and that each child gets to take home the eggs they select.

The kids can enter the Easter Egg Hunt Village area once and will have their wristbands marked accordingly. They will then choose 10 eggs from anywhere in the hunt area. They get to keep the 10 eggs and the goodies in the eggs they find.

Six random golden eggs will be placed in the hunt area and the eggs, which aren’t necessarily gold, can be hidden inside other eggs. Those children who find one of the winning Golden Egg Tickets will see the Easter Bunny for the prize.

Easter Picture Bingo is new to the carnival this year. This game is great for all ages. There will be a bingo tent set up and every half hour the Family Matters Club will run a bingo game with prizes. Participants grab a seat on the grass and receive a bingo card.

Each round’s winner receives a large prize, and everyone else will select a prize from the runner-up basket.

Vendors will be on hand to sell their handmade items. Those attending the carnival will be able to purchase a variety of Easter gifts and goodies.
