April a busy month for the Canyon Lake Library

The Canyon Lake Library has begun a busy April and has a slew of activities and events on its calendar.

Tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. Miss Allison will be hosting a bilingual story-time for children through age six.

April 22 is Earth Day, and the library will be celebrating by having a craft with recycled paper clay.

On April 25, the adult book club, which is near capacity, will be discussing “Apples Never Fall,” by Liane Moriarty. Copies of the book can be obtained at the Circulation Desk.

On April 30, the library will celebrate El Dia de los Niños (day of the child) with activities throughout the day including a free bag giveaway (while supplies last) and a chance to earn a free book that pays tribute to children.

The Joy of Reading Book Club is reading “Eternal” by Lisa Scottoline. The club is at capacity, but still wants to continue to share its recommendations of books to read. “Eternal” is a historical fiction book  about WWII in Rome.

Every Wednesday the library holds story and craft time with Miss Ginny or Miss Grechen at 10:30 a.m. and a homework help time from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m..

Good news for those who need to read with a bigger print. The library has added more than 100 newly-released large-print books in the last month.

The library is also selling used books for $2.00 or less. Those who mention this Friday Flyer article during the month of April, can get half off any of the books for sale.
