In Memoriam: David Alan Hermann

David Alan Hermann

David Alan Hermann, 82, passed away on April 1, 2022 after a seven-year battle against colon cancer.  David was a true warrior. During all his struggles he never lost his fighting spirit or his fantastic sense of humor.

“Crazy Dave,” as he was known by all of his friends, was born Oct. 17, 1939. He graduated from Norwalk High School in 1958 and lived most of his life in Norwalk, Iowa. He worked as a sheet metal worker before retiring in 1999.

David has spent the last six years wintering in Canyon Lake where he has made many new friends. He was a member of the Canyon Lake Senior Chair Volleyball Club and CLAMS.

David is survived by his wife Patricia, son Scott (Meredith) Hermann, two sons-in-law John Baker and Scott Ellefson, two brothers Bob Hermann and Tom Hermann, six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and his ex-wife. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughters Terri Hannam and Tammy Baker and his sister Dolores Linder.

Cremation has taken place and per David’s wishes no services are planned.
