Skier Lutynski, new to Canyon Lake, loving life

New Canyon Laker Tommy Lutynski is a long-time skier and was immediately attracted to Canyon Lake when he was introduced to it a few months ago. And it’s not just the immediate access to ideal water skiing conditions. He said he fell in love with the “amazing community.”

“While the lake is smaller than what I’m used to, it’s the perfect place to be,” Tommy said. “I love being able to hop on the boat and bring friends and family along to enjoy this amazing place.”

Over the weekend, with heat hitting 92 degrees, Tommy took cousin Jason Perrot out in the new boat they co-own. The day on the lake included some wakeboarding, “chillin’ ” in the different coves, meeting neighbors and enjoying music from the new boat. At the end of their day, Tommy was once again touched by what a great community he had just moved into.

“We ran out of gas on our way back home,” he said. “We were right next to the causeway and there were a few people sitting out on their dock who noticed we were having a bit of a problem.”

He told the folks on the dock he had run out of gas and a woman told him to paddle over to her dock and they would help.

The woman, Lainey, helped get the boat to the dock while her husband Rob immediately ran up to his garage and brought out a can of gasoline.

“We offered to pay them and they said the only payment they wanted was for us to pay it forward,” Tommy said. “They sent us off with some gas in our tank and a cold beer in our hands to cool us down after the stress of running out of gas. What a great community.”
