KK Beecher wins Club Championship

KK Beecher took first place at the annual Canyon Lake Women’s Golf Club Championship Tournament after three days of golf earlier this month. With the win, KK will have her name engraved on the club’s perpetual trophy and earned an invitation to play in the PGA’s National Club Championship.

The tournament proved to be a tightly-contested match as after each of the three days, the competition was close. After 54 holes of golf, KK pulled away by just three strokes to finish in first, just ahead of Gerry Meeks and Mary Burns in the A Flight, who finished tied for second.

Winners of the other three flights received club medallions. They were Lorrie Applegate, Flight B, Ura Furry, Flight C and Linda Johnson, Flight D. Canyon Lake Golf Pro Pat Kemball gave out awards for the winners in each of four flights at the luncheon at the Canyon Lake Country Club on the last day of play.
