Women’s Golf Club holds Valentine’s Tournament

The Canyon Lake Women’s Golf Club held its annual Valentine’s Tournament with a twist of Elvis Tuesday.

Golf was “Always on My Mind,” led by Linda Johnson, Anne Norris, KK Beecher and Linda Kamashian.

There were 43 players who enjoyed the sunny skies and a round of golf as they participated in a team game.

A Flight tournament winners were: 1st Gross: Darlene Cortez, Anita Fairfield and Linda Hudson; 1st Net: Kay Arth, Mary Burns, Betty Henry and Valerie Montgomery; 2nd Net: KK Beecher, Linda Johnson, Linda Kamashian and Anne Norris.

B Flight tournament winners were: 1st Gross: Rita Crocker, Claudia Pinto, Jeannette Williams and Vicky Wood; 1st Net: Marlene Cathro, Donna Nunes, Barbara Spraul and Maxine Whalen; 2nd Net: Lila Gann, Marilynn Murphy, Alice Ramirez and Joanna Spiller.

One of the treats for the ladies was being able to use Golf Pro Pat Kemball on Hole 12 to drive for each team.

A highlight of the tournament was the festive luncheon put on by Country Club staff and manager Paul de la Vega, complete with Valentine’s Day-themed decorated tables.
