Haley Kielty named Student of the Month

Canyon Lake student Haley Kielty has been chosen as the February Student of the Month for Temescal Canyon High School. She will be honored at a Student of the Month ceremony that will take place on Tuesday at 2:30 PM. It will be a Zoom event.

The Student of the Month program is sponsored by the Lake Elsinore Valley Chamber of Commerce.

Students from each of Lake Elsinore Unified School District’s seven high schools are chosen each month for the honor and are given baskets of gift cards and other gifts.

Police encourage Super Bowl designated driver

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department – Lake Elsinore Station, which provides police services for the City of Canyon Lake, is reminding football fans to stick to the “go safely” game plan and designate a sober driver for those who plan on drinking at a Super Bowl LVI watch party.

“The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department reminds the public that alcohol is not the only substance that impairs,” Sergeant Brad Foster of the department said. “Marijuana, prescription drugs, and over-the-counter medications can all affect your ability to drive safely. Do your research and understand the potential side effects of certain drugs.”

Canyon Lake Pickleball Club to hold tournament

Canyon Lakers are invited to come out tomorrow (Saturday) to the Canyon Lake Pickleball Club’s annual Sweetheart and Singles Tournament from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. This is a great opportunity to see just how much fun pickleball can be and meet some amazing people in the community, the club said.

Canyon Lake’s Cynthia Sergott earns MBA degree

Cynthia Sergott from Canyon Lake earned a Business Administration – MBA degree from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater at winter commencement.

More than 762 students crossed the stage to receive their degrees at the ceremony, held at Kachel Fieldhouse in the Williams Center.
