In Memoriam: Geneva “Maxine” Brown Preston

Geneva “Maxine” Brown Preston, a long-time Canyon Lake resident, passed away peacefully on Jan.11, 2022, at the age of 99.

Geneva “Maxine” Brown Preston. July 22, 1922 – January 11, 2022

Maxine was born in Hartman, Arkansas, on July 22, 1922. Her parents William F. and Mary M. (Blakely) Brown preceded her in death. She was the youngest girl of eight children (four boys and four girls) – all of whom preceded her in death. Maxine was also preceded in death by her husband, Claire “Pres” Preston in 1974; and her great granddaughter Misty.

She is survived by two sons David and Mark; three grandchildren Sierra, Shawn and Kandice; and her great grandson Gunner.

A graveside service will be held at the Riverside National Cemetery on Tuesday, Feb. 1, at 11:00 a.m.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Canyon Lake Community Church or a charity of your choice.
