Canyon Lakers sought to help decorate Rose Parade float

Canyon Lakers Lynn and Dick Gast are offering others in Canyon Lake the unique opportunity to help adhere flowers onto a Rose Parade float this coming week.

Lynn and Dick are in charge of recruiting help for their Lutheran Hour Ministries, Jesus Teaches Float for the 133rd Tournament of Roses Parade on Jan. 1. Their role as Petal Pushers volunteers is to recruit, organize and direct the volunteers.

As part of their volunteer recruiting, Lynn and Dick were interviewed this past Thursday on KTLA with Gayle Anderson.

The Canyon Lake couple is seeking help from Canyon Lakers who are interested in assisting with the affixing the flowers onto the float. Volunteers are needed for shifts Sunday through New Year’s Eve. Volunteers are still needed starting Sunday and going until New Year’s Eve, the day before the parade. Volunteers age 13 and older are needed for all skill levels. Dozens of tasks still need to be fulfilled including cutting flower petals, gluing on dried materials of all shapes and sizes and adding the fresh flowers as Jan. 1 approaches.

Families, individuals and groups are welcome to contact the Gasts for signing up to help. For more information or to sign up, go to www.petalpushers.org or contact chairman@petalpushers.org.
