Route 91 bench unveiled at Roadrunner Park

Organizers and Las Vegas Route 91 Concert survivors Nicole and Tony Moisio from Canyon Lake said they were excited and touched by the overwhelming turnout for the dedication of their Route 91 Bench Sunday at Roadrunner Park.

“Not only were there survivors of the Route 91 Vegas Concerts at the dedication,” Nicole said, “but there were donors and supporters who gathered to see the unveiling of the bench that will be a place of healing, reflecting and relaxing to enjoy the views.”

There were over 40 people who attended the dedication and Nicole, in a heartfelt thank you speech, said, “The Route 91 family is not a family that any of us ever wanted to be a part of, but we are now forever a part of it and I couldn’t ask for a better family to belong too.”

Nicole and her husband Tony have only been in the community since June 2019, but she said she feels right at home and was surprised at the amount of other people in Canyon Lake who were at the Route 91 Concerts where 58 people lost their lives on Oct. 1, 2017.

Nicole said she is so thankful for the support of the many donors who helped make her dream of purchasing and installing the special bench a reality.

“This bench will forever be a place where everyone can come and enjoy the views of the lake,” she said.
