Turkey Legs wins Tennis Club’s November mixer

The tennis courts were packed with fun as the Canyon Lake Tennis Club enjoyed its November Mixer Turkey Trot with team Turkey Legs winning highest overall points with 116 in total. The mixer was led by Carlos Hansen, and head tennis pro Bobby Kielty.

Highest points in the Men’s Division went to Bill Vleet with 22 points after a singles tie breaker. Women’s Division highest points went to Nancy Contreras with 23 points.

In the Men’s Division, Bill and Mike had tied when all matches were tallied, so they decided to play a 10-point tie breaker singles match.

Nancy Contreras was the leading points, with 23 points, in the Women’s Division at the Canyon Lake Tennis Club’s November mixer.

“With onlookers following play, it was a fun, friendly, nail biting and a very competitive match,” the club’s Jennifer Denson said. “The match displayed excellent sportsmanship at its finest. Hip, hip, hooray to Bill on winning the match.”

Winners received new tennis balls and gift cards on behalf of the Canyuon Lake Tennis Club.

The event launched with some morning treats including fresh fruit, protein bars, sandwiches, Krispy Kreme donuts, and yummy pastries.

The Canyon Lake Tennis Club is growing quickly and the monthly tournaments are just one of the benefits of being a member, Jennifer said. Monthly tournaments range in price from $15.00 per mixer in addition to the club’s annual fee. In January, new and old club members are welcomed and single and family memberships are open to Canyon Lake residents.

In addition to the monthly club mixers, the club holds USTA teams events, holiday parties and events, and community fundraisers like the Dream Center Adopt a Family and donations to Temescal Canyon High boys and girls tennis teams.
