Parade of Frights is B-A-A-A-C-K

The Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce Parade of Frights is back after taking a scary COVID-19-enduced year off. Ghost and goblin-dressed kids will be scattered all over the Canyon Lake Town Center tomorrow (Saturday) morning collecting candy and ghost stamps.

The trick or treating begins at 9:00 a.m. and costumed kids will visit the 30 participating businesses in the Canyon Lake Town Center to not only gather candy from each storefront, but stamps on a map. The Treasure Map is provided by the Chamber of Commerce and each business will stamp it.

“Become a professional Ghost Hunter and collect all 30 ghosts at each participating business to win prizes,” the Chamber said. “Completed stamped maps should be turned into the Chamber Booth no later than 11:30 a.m.”

The Parade of Frights will start at approximately 11:30 a.m. with the Costume Contest commencing shortly thereafter in the Canyon Lake Town Center.

Each contestant in the Costume Contest will need to “register” at the Canyon Lake Chamber Information Booth no later than 11:30 a.m. Each contestant will receive a number which will correspond to the category in which they are entered.

The four age group categories for the Costume Contest are 0-1 years old, 2-5 years old, 6-9 years old and Best Ensemble.

Trophies, provided by Champion Trophy, will be awarded to the Best Costume in each category.

The Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce Parade of Frights has been a community staple since its inception in the 1990s. It has grown into one of the more popular community events of the year.
