Annual Poker Pickleball Club Tournament Thursday

The Canyon Lake Pickleball Club is holding its annual Pickleball Poker Tournament on Thursday  and Friday at the pickleball courts near the Eastgate entrance at 6:00 p.m.

To learn more about pickleball, come out to the tournament and check it out.

Brooks and Dunn Tribute Concert next weekend

The Canyon Lake Fine Arts Guild’s Brooks and Dunn Tribute concert is rapidly approaching and there are still a limited number of tickets available for the Oct. 24 concert.

The concert will take place at the Canyon Lake Lodge at 7:00 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are available by emailing the Canyon Lake Guild at canyonlakeguild@gmail.com.

Senior Center Annual Holiday Boutique a few weeks away

The Canyon Lake Senior Center will be hosting its annual Holiday Boutique on Nov. 6 and 7 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

There will be over 40 vendors all of which will be selling handcrafted items. There will be decorated Christmas Trees, crocheted items, quilts by award-winning quilters, totes, wood work, gnomes and more. Vendors will also be selling holiday fudge, homemade jellies and jams. Much of what the vendors will be selling will be perfect for decorating or giving as gifts.

Women’s Golf Club to hold ‘Trees for Troops’ event

Christmas trees for members of the military will be provided from the proceeds of a Canyon Lake Women’s Golf Club tournament to be held next month. “Trees for Troops” is a national organization that provides Christmas trees to the military and will receive the funds raised by the tournament.

The golf club is encouraging members of the various Canyon Lake golf clubs to participate in the charitable tournament that will take place on Nov. 20. The tournament will take place at the Canyon Lake Golf Course and will have a Jack ‘n Jill or Jill ‘n Jill format.

A sign up sheet will be available at the Canyon Lake Pro Shop when the golf course reopens after the reseeding closure. Participants must have a handicap to play in the tournament.

Guild planning for Oct. 24 Brooks and Dunn concert.

Tickets are on sale for the next Canyon Lake Fine Arts Guild concert. The Brooks and Dunn tribute band will perform at the Canyon Lake Lodge on Oct. 24 at 7:00 p.m.

P.E.O. seeking women with interrupted education

Women whose education has been interrupted and who find it necessary to return to school to support themselves and/or their families, may be eligible for scholarships. The Canyon Lake Chapter of P.E.O, an international philanthropic and educational organization, is eager to speak with anybody in such a situation, Peggy Clark, of the club, said.

Qualified applicants would need to have at least 24 consecutive months as a non-student and have completed enough education to be within 18 consecutive months of completing their educational program.

Canyon Lake Community Theatre Club to hold election

The Canyon Lake Community Theatre Club’s board elections will be taking place in November. Those interested in joining the club and to run for a position on the board, should attend its next meeting.

“We would like any and all who want to be a part of our amazing organization to please attend our meeting,” the club’s Stephanie Vecchione said. “The meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 17 at the East Port annex building.”
