Members of the Canyon Lake Women’s Golf Club played three rounds of golf last week in its 2021 Member Member Tournament. Those with the best gross and net scores received awards.
The unique format of the tournament had members pair up for two rounds of Eclectic Golf followed by one round of Scotch Doubles, where players use one ball and hit alternate shots.
The theme of the tournament this year was Girls Just Wanna Have Fun and by all indications, the theme was successful.
Awards were also given for closest to the pin and the fun Sandy Beach Baby was awarded to the golfer who ended up in the most bunkers.
The tournament consisted of two flights.
The winners of the A Flight were 1st Place Gross with a three-day score of 166 was the team of Norma Yarbrough and KK Beecher, 1st Place Net with a three-day score of 130 were Lorrie Applegate and Ura Furry and Runner Up Net with a three-day score of score 135 were Julie Faia and Sheri Rawlins.
The winners of the B Flight were 1st Place Gross with a three-day score of 186 were Donna Nunes and Maxine Whalen, 1st Place Net with a three-day score of 127 were Lila Gann and Dianne Schneider and Runner Up Net with a three-day score of 133 were Merilyn Murphy and Alice Ramirez.
The Canyon Lake Women’s Golf Club is open to all women golfers with a handicap. The Canyon Lake Women’s Golf Club was established in 1971 and is a member of the Southern California Golf Association.
The Women’s Golf Club’s mission is to create and maintain a friendly atmosphere in which golfers of all abilities can participate and enjoy the game of golf. The club plays on Tuesdays with an 8:00 a.m. shotgun start.
