Miss Ginny’s Story Time gets little ones into books

Miss Ginny is back at the library and 13 tiny library goers, ages 2-6, listened to stories and created crafts Wednesday.

Story Time, held each Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Canyon Lake Library features Miss Ginny reading to the little ones and then creating a free craft related to the story.

This week, Miss Ginny read “Grandma Elephant’s in Charge” and “Fall Friends.” The children sat and listened while Miss Ginny read. While she read the stories, she engaged the kids by asking questions about the story. Excitedly raising hands, the children replied as they came up with the answers.

After the stories were read, the children were given a craft to make. The theme of the stories this week was elephants, so the kids glued elephants to their paper sack puppets.

Crafting time is a popular part of the Story Time, of course, and parents jump in to assist their children. The children also participated in a little song time with Miss Ginny.
