Over 200 households in huge Garage Sale

Garage sales in Canyon Lake have been popular since the community formation 50 years ago. But, there has never been anything close to what’s happening this weekend on over 200 driveways throughout the city.

The Canyon Lake Community Garage Sale, happening for the first time, will take place tomorrow and Sunday. Households within the city have signed up to the Canyon Lake POA-sponsored event via the POA website.

The participating homes are included in an Interactive Map on the POA website, with turn-by-turn directions on how to navigate the more than 200 participating Garage Sales.

The map, as well as a list of all participating households and what each garage sale is selling, is available at www.canyonlakepoa.com/828/Community-Garage-Sale. The garage sales will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day.

All Canyon Lakers and their guests are invited to visit the couple hundred garage sales this weekend, but the non-Canyon Lake guests, as always, need to be called in for entrance.

This weekend event allows residents to have a garage sale without obtaining a garage sale permit from the Canyon Lake POA. Each resident wishing to hold a garage sale this weekend, need only sign up at the Canyon Lake POA website.

As with all garage sales held within Canyon Lake, all items must be removed from the front lot at the conclusion of the sale. In the case of the Community Garage Sale this weekend, all items must be removed by 5:00 p.m. on Sunday.

The Canyon Lake POA said that residents with items in the front lot that are in violation of the Rules & Regulations may be subject to violations.

The POA reminds residents that garage sales held on alternative dates must still obtain a garage sale permit and follow the Rules & Regulations related to garage sales.
