Luke Thomas, a Canyon Lake Boy Scout from Troop 2011, is holding a garage sale in conjunction with the Canyon Lake POA-sponsored Community Garage Sale next weekend to earn funds for his Eagle Scout Project.

Luke is looking to construct and install a free book exchange library in Sierra Park to fulfill the requirement of needing to do a community Eagle Scout project to learn leadership, planning, and service, Luke said.

To raise money for the parts and materials, Luke will hold a Garage Sale from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on the Sept. 25 and 26 at 22835 Cove View Street. Those are the same days as the community-wide garage sale the Canyon Lake POA is promoting.

Luke is also accepting donations that he can sell at the garage sale. The donated items can be dropped off on Thursday and Friday next week at the same address as the garage sale. There are many requirements to earning the prestigious Eagle Scout Award. Years of earning merit badges and other advancements are needed prior to the Eagle Project.
