Canyon Lake Mermaid Tea set for Sept. 26

The Canyon Lake community is invited to a Mermaid Tea on Sept. 26 at the Senior Center from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. hosted by the newly-sanctioned Canyon Lake Mermaids Club. Tickets are available for $35.00 each and can be purchased from Kathy Ray at kathyray82@hotmail.com.

The price of ticket includes a glass of champagne and a themed afternoon tea of assorted finger sandwiches, desserts and traditional scones, clotted cream and jam. Additional champagne is available by the bottle.

The entertainment will be provided by Aprile McKinnon, and a cash bar is available as is an opportunity drawing. Costumes are not mandatory, but are greatly encouraged, Kathy said. Aprile will be conducting a costume competition as part of the entertainment. This is a limited space event and there will be indoor and outdoor seating.

Reserved tables are available for groups of eight and four. Single-ticketed guests will be open seating. Reserving an entire table is $280 for eight people and $140 for four people. Proceeds from the event will be used for the club’s philanthropic efforts to raise money for women’s shelters, animal shelters, etc. Tickets are on sale now, but there are a limited number of tickets available. They will be sold on a first come, first serve basis. The deadline for purchasing tickets is Sept. 20.
