Non-members invited to Stag Day Golf Tourney

All Canyon Lake POA members and their guests are being invited to join in on the Canyon Lake Men’s Golf Club Stag Day Tournament next weekend. To enter the tournament the golfer need not be a member of the club. The fee, which includes the golf, a steak dinner and a raffle ticket, is $90 per person.

“With the tournament falling on September 11th, it is fitting to wear red, white, and blue to honor our military, law enforcement, firefighters, and other first responders,” Bruce Wallace, the Men’s Golf Club president, said. “Although the 2020 tournament had to be cancelled, we now have a great day of golf, skills challenges and camaraderie planned for 2021.”

Those who cannot participate in the golf tournament, are still able to join in on the post-tournament fun, Bruce said.

“Something we’ve added late in the process is for club members who can’t play golf with us in the morning can purchase a reduced-price dinner and raffle ticket,” he said. “This will allow club members to come down to the Country Club, enjoy a delicious steak dinner, and participate in the evening’s activities with their friends and colleagues. Be sure to seek out a board member or visit the Pro Shop for tickets.”

The raffle drawing is no small event. Additional tickets cost $40 each. The first ticket drawn wins $50 and then $40 cash for every 10th ticket drawn after that. Major crash prizes will be awarded for the final five tickets drawn. The last ticket will award between $4,000 and $5,000 grand prize.

The tournament will include contests for closest to the pin, long drives, chipping and various other skills throughout the afternoon.

The tournament begins with an 8:00 a.m. shotgun start with the rules including partner’s best ball. Participants pick their foursome.  The steak dinner takes place at 5:00 p.m. with the raffle and awards starting up at 6:00 p.m. For more information contact Tournament Director Dan Rawlins at 714-907-5418 or rawlins.dan@yahoo.com.
