Community-wide Canyon Lake POA Garage Sale next month

A massive community-wide garage sale sponsored by the Canyon Lake POA is set to take place Sept. 25 and 26.

This weekend event community sale allows residents to have a garage sale without obtaining a Canyon Lake POA garage sale permit. This sale is for the residents of Canyon Lake and their guests, but all guests must be called in.

This community garage sale will be a two-day sale and all items must be removed from the front lot by 5:00 p.m. on Sept. 26, the POA said. Residents with items in the front lot that are in violation of the Rules & Regulations may be subject to violations.

Those who wish to participate in hosting a garage sale should add their address to the Canyon Lake POA interactive map at www.clpoa.com/communitysale.

Garage sales held on alternative dates, of course, must still obtain a garage sale permit from the Canyon Lake POA and follow the Rules & Regulations related to garage sales.

“If you go all out for the holidays and would like to showcase your home, we’d love to hear from you,” Shawna Bowen of the Woman’s Club said. “We provide all the tickets, staffing in each room of the house and booties for people’s feet.”

Town Center landscape being renovated

Landscape grass maintenance being stalled to replace the turf has resulted in dead grass at the Canyon Lake Town Center. The Canyon Lake Merchants Association, which maintains all of the landscape, parking and common areas of the Canyon Lake Town Center recently received approval for a $100,000 turf removal rebate from Metropolitan Water District.

Contractors have begun installing new irrigation valves and drip irrigation as part of the renovation of the grass areas. Those grass areas in the Town Center Planters will be removed. All of the planters will be updated with new plants, shrubs, drip irrigation and mulch to give the Town Center a fresh new look and will use much less water. The vast majority of this project will be paid for using the MWD rebate funds.
