Taco Tuesday is now Tacos & Family Fun

There is just one more summer Tacos & Family Fun at the Lodge Tuesday. What historically has been dubbed, Taco Tuesday, is now called Tacos & Family Fun by the sponsoring Canyon Lake POA. The event is still taking place on Tuesdays during the summer, but instead of being held downstairs by the swimming pool, it has been expanded and now takes place on the Lodge lawn.

“We are trying to change it up every week,” Carrie Pratt, Senior Activities Manager at the POA, said. There are different types of outdoor activities, water slides and games.

Of course, what is always available are tacos. Taco and drink specials are served in the Lighthouse Restaurant. The event will take place 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Town Center landscape being renovated

Landscape grass maintenance being stalled to replace the turf has resulted in dead grass at the Canyon Lake Town Center. The Canyon Lake Merchants Association, which maintains all of the landscape, parking and common areas of the Canyon Lake Town Center recently received approval for a $100,000 turf removal rebate from Metropolitan Water District.

Contractors have begun installing new irrigation valves and drip irrigation as part of the renovation of the grass areas. Those grass areas in the Town Center Planters will be removed.

All of the planters will be updated with new plants, shrubs, drip irrigation and mulch to give the Town Center a fresh new look and will use much less water. The vast majority of this project will be paid for using the MWD rebate funds.
